8D 2-1/4" duplex nails / scaffold nails
Duplex nails as known as Double-Headed Nail, Scaffold Nail are essentially two nails in one. They are used for temporarily constructing scaffolding, or forms for concrete projects.
They are designed with two heads along a central shank. The first head secures the nail against the wood, while the second head allows for easy removal. The nail is driven into the surface to the first head, leaving a small bit of the nail and the second head sticking out. All you need is the reverse end of a claw hammer to remove a double-headed nail.
